Shepherdswell open Saturday and Sunday for walks and exploring. Cafe open for takeaway.
No trains or attractions in operation this week.
Maintaining the railway and its overheads during time remain expensive and present a significant cash burn on already depleted reserves – if you are able to donate to our funds to help us through these unprecedented times then we would really appreciate it.

The East Kent Railway has so much to offer
From our award winning visitor centre to our beautiful woodland walks and our lovingly restored heritage trains to our informative museums the East Kent Railway has something to offer all the family.

Heritage railway was only charging £1 person for rides and my grandson aged 2 and a half was thrilled as he loves trains. Shepherdswell is a lovely setting. The staff (volunteers) were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

A fun and inexpensive afternoon trip (especially with children)” Heritage train rides available here circa 1957. Over the Bank Holiday entry was £1 per person. There is a miniature steam railway for the kids.

A lovely little treat for Easter Sunday, £1 each. A fantastic setting for a train ride with a beautiful little station in Sheperdswell. Nothing beats daffs and spring sunshine. The train ride is great and the staff all really friendly.
